Monica Martin's Itaca Art Studio

Itaca Art Studio

Before settling in Venice, Monica Martin lived in England, Austria and Florence. She founded Itaca Art Studio in Venice in 1999. Her studio, which is open to the public, is located on the island of Giudecca, inside the magnificent cloister of the former convent of SS. Cosma e Damiano.

Here Monica creates watercolours, paintings and engravings, featuring highly original and imaginative views of Venice, her characteristic abstract gondolas, more traditional views of the city always painted in her own very personal style, and other subjects that originate in her innermost world, all the way through to abstract pieces. Her ceramic works are also particularly original and distinctive: jewellery and sculptures made from enamel and glass, all unique pieces.

In addition to this, the artist offers a line of accessories and personalised products such as bags, pencil cases, clutch bags, glasses cases, mugs, notebooks and travel diaries with images of her works. She is also available for commissions to celebrate anniversaries, events and any other needs.

On request, she organises live demonstrations and courses in engraving and ceramics, which are available in English, French and German if required.

Monica Martin has exhibited in various shows in Italy and abroad. Her works feature in private and public collections all over the world.he faithfully reproduces. He draws inspiration from sacred art and Venetian symbols (palaces, paintings, the Lion of Venice, etc.). Art and craftsmanship merge to create unique, entirely handmade articles
