Farmer's markets
Venice Farmers’markets offer the freshest local food to Venetians every week. Venice Farmers' markets are different to ordinary food markets: almost 20 local farms sell a large bounty of fresh and tasty local produce. Look out, in season, for white asparagus from Giare, Salt marsh honey, strawberries, Lison di Pramaggiore wine, artisan cheeses and a real delicacy such as the castraure, the first buds of Sant’Erasmo violet artichoke, cultivated on the Venetian lagoon island of Sant’Erasmo.
