Casa Macchietta

Casa Macchietta

Casa Macchietta is a children's area that offers an intelligent care service for guests of the Foundation Querini Stampalia: at Casa Macchietta one can enjoy art, animated reading, theatre and music.

Macchietta was one of the dogs of the Querini household, mentioned in the letters that Elena Mocenigo wrote to her husband Andrea Querini in the eighteenth century, and he is the virtual companion for the adventures of our young guests.

Casa Macchietta is available for those who wish to leave their children in safety and study in the library or just read a magazine or newspaper in Emeroteca, visit the Museum or an exhibition, attend a conference, drink tea with a friend or go Christmas shopping. It welcomes children aged 3 to 6 years in a specially-equipped and furnished space with games, books, paints and colouring pencils, and a multilingual entertainer who speaks Italian, English and French.

The daily teaching is rich with group games and toys made using simple and recycled materials, interspersed with animated reading aloud and workshops inspired by the theme of the month.
