CA’ VENDRAMIN CALERGI

Ca’ Vendramin Calergi is one of the most important and luxurious Renaissance stately homes overlooking the Grand Canal. It houses game rooms, a restaurant, lounge bar, function and convention rooms. Built between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century, this charming building is enhanced by a beautiful Italian garden, one of the few with a view and direct access to the main waterway of the city. Work of the brilliant architect Mario Codussi, the building was once the residence of the most influential aristocratic families of the Serenissima and still today, in addition to housing Venice Casino, it is a representative office for the city of Venice.

THE PALAZZO

The palazzo consists of a ground floor, with access by water from the Grand Canal, the noble first floor featuring a large central hall and three rooms decorated in the Renaissance style and the taste of the successive owners who took over management of the residence.
The prestigious rooms on the first floor, embellished with paintings by Palma the Younger, host shows, gala dinners, corporate meetings, meetings and conferences, as the large garden is also used for glamorous parties and concerts.

THE CASINO

The second floor of the elegant building is home to the gaming rooms of the Venice Casino.
Among damask walls, precious paintings and Murano chandeliers are the green tables for French Roulette, Fair Roulette, Chemin de Fer, Midi Trente et Quarante, Blackjack, Caribbean Poker, Punto Banco and a wide choice of the latest generation of slot machines.

WAGNER MUSEUM

The white wing of the Palace is home to an exceptional guest: the exhibition area dedicated to Richard Wagner.

The mezzanine floor, where Wagner stayed and indeed died in 1883, became a museum open to the public, managed by the Association named after the famous musician, in eternal memory of his love for the lagoon city. The Richard Wagner Association of Venice handles the organisation of exhibitions, publications, conferences, round tables and concerts targeted to deepen and spread the knowledge and the study of the life and musical and literary work of the great composer.
